Reiki Circle Healing Group for June

11 June, 2018 by Angela Wheeler Leave a Comment

Looking for more connection & community?

My Reiki Circle healing group could be just the thing

Although we are hyper-connected in the online world, sometimes it can feel lonely in the real world. My Reiki Circle healing group is a great way to create more connection, both internally and with others.

I know that it’s our self-connection that we need to look to first if there’s a disconnect. What do you need right now to feel more connected to yourself and therefore have more energy to share with others?

Coming into winter, I naturally want to slow down and go inward and that is exactly what this season or cycle calls for. The darkness of winter prompts us to take time to recharge, to re-evaluate where we are and what we want next. However, I also need to remember to balance that with giving myself a gentle push at times to get out to connect more with people!

While I’m still trying to adjust to it REALLY being winter and allowing myself to retreat a bit, I’m also conscious of how good it feels to spend time with my own little community. Otherwise, I start to feel lonely and isolated, even though it’s been my own choice.

I’ve been noticing themes coming up everywhere around me lately of “feeling isolated” or of people looking for more community and that is exactly what I wanted to create with the Reiki Circle. An opportunity to get together and share in some healing and conversation, more connection, both within ourselves and with others.

We are asked multiple times a day “how are you?”, but how often do you honestly respond with the truth?

Of course, we don’t always have time or want to bare our soul to the person who just politely asked, with no real curiosity. And it’s HARD to say “hey, actually I’m not coping so well right now, life feels overwhelming”. Sharing that truth requires a level of trust and vulnerability that just isn’t always there in the casual encounter.

Having a safe space to open up is really important, your safe space might be a particular person in your life that you can be that honest with. Or you might feel like you just can’t say it to anyone? You don’t want to seem weak, like you’re not coping, because everyone ELSE is coping – right? WRONG.

We never really know what’s going on for people if they don’t feel like they can share it. How many of our close friends, colleagues, or family members aren’t sharing how they really feel?

In our society we value busy-ness, we expect everyone to multi-task ALL the time, to DO more, to push through. We are so damn uncomfortable with feelings like shame, sadness, anger, frustration, tiredness, overwhelm. And we won’t get more comfortable with them by hiding them all the time.

I invite you to try this; ask someone how they are and really listen.

Not just to their words but their body language. Ask them if everything is really ok, how their life feels right now? Offer to listen, just listen without judgement, and not try to solve their problems for them. There is so much power in being present for someone and allowing them to talk. We all want to be heard.

We HAVE to open the door to more of these kinds of conversations. We have to speak with more honesty ourselves, often by sharing our struggles, that makes it easier for someone else to share theirs. We have to remember, none of us are perfect, and we are not weak because we feel overwhelmed by life. No judgement, just giving our presence, to listen.

This is why I created the Reiki Circle healing group, to give everyone a place to reclaim some space for themselves, and to bring our presence to the group. What goes on in the circle, stays in the circle. It’s a safe place to talk about how you really feel, to say “I feel kind of shit right now” if that’s your truth.

And if talking is the last thing you want to do – to allow you to just BE, and share nothing of your experience if that is what you need. To allow the Reiki to work its magic, to help you to reconnect with your inner guidance, and bring more clarity and peace for you.

Take a break from busyness and create some space for yourself.

If that sounds like something you would like more of right now, join me for the next Reiki Circle on Friday evening, 22nd June. Seven Points has moved to a bigger & better space in the Centre Arcade so we’ll have more room to spread out and enjoy our Reiki.

I’ll provide all that’s needed, come in comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle, and prepare to relax and unwind while receiving Reiki. No experience or training in Reiki is necessary on your part.

You can find all the info and future dates here, or book online here, under Group Events> Reiki Circle Healing Group. You can also now buy multiple tickets in one transaction, if you want to bring a friend.

I hope to see you there!
